Blog Tip #7 Does your entertainment fit like a glove?

Tip #7

Entertainment is often an excellent, and often necessary, element of your successful party or event, but not every entertainer is going to fit your particular occasion like a glove.

It’s human nature for guests to talk about “the good time they had” or the “lousy time they had” for several weeks after an event. People will talk. What would you like to hear them say?

Studies show that a week or so after the event almost 90% of the attendees report that the entertainment was the most memorable part of their experience. If they remember the entertainer, they’ll also remember who booked them, that will reflect on your choice.

Be sure the entertainment is right for your setting. If you want after banquet entertainment where your audiences focus will be the show, you’ll need a stage/platform or “parlor” act. If you need an entertainer to stroll around cocktail hour or move from table to table during dinner, you’ll want a close-up performer. Is it inside or outside, in a large area or smaller room?

What mood are you going for: Sophisticated? Fun? Themed? Spicy? Cultured? Casual or formal? This is where you want your choice to fit like a glove for your unique event.

Just a few thoughts to keep in mind. Jot them down so you remember to include them in your phone and/or live interview process. And as always best of luck with your event!
